Charcuterie Board

This past spring my dear friend of 47 years from Virginia came to visit me here in Scottsdale.  The four days that she was here the weather was superlative, low 80’s during the days and 60’s in the evenings.  Since we had not seen each other in about a year we had lots to catch up on, I thought the perfect appetizer would be a Charcuterie Board with all of our favorite nibbling foods.  Both of us enjoy tequila so I thought a chilled Palamo would be the perfect accompaniment to all the flavors on the board.  To create a mouth-watering Charcuterie board just adorn your board with some creamy cheeses like brie and blue, hard cheeses, a few pieces of smoked trout, parma ham, crisp fruit of your choosing, marinated artichokes, briny olives, beet tahini spread and a dollop of fig jam and your taste buds will be dancing.  This is a wonderful way to relax with friends sharing gorgeous food and tasty beverages.
